Discipline

You remember being spanked as a kid for something you did wrong? How about being in school and having to write on the chalk board that "you will not talk in class" 100 times? Do you remember the hard work and time it takes to learn a new skill, sport, or trade? Discipline definitely isn't fun, but it's absolutely necessary. There's no way around it.
